A visit from Habitat for Humanity.

The 5th Year LCVP class have been studying voluntary organisations and the benefits they bring to the community. To help us learn more and to practice our team and organisational skills, we recently invited a speaker from Habitat for Humanity Ireland to speak to us about the work they do as an International voluntary organisation.

Niamh spoke to us about the organisation and also about what she gained as a volunteer in Ghana where she helped build two houses with a team of students in 2010.

Below is Niamh's presentation. It is good to have a copy of the presentation as it will help us when we are writing our Summary Report on teh visit.

Niamh brought this edition of InTuition - a CSPE booklet that had a recent spotlight on Habitat for Humanity on October 2nd - World Habitat Day.

This will add to what we learnt when we had a volunteer from a local organisation, Celbridge Youth Cafe, recently visit to talk to us.

Well done to the 5th Year LCVP class for organising the visit.
